As parents, and community members we believe there is a gap in the celebration of unsung heroes and sheroes in black history. Using these stories, we've contributed to the community by donating books, hosting a speech competition and teaching educational classes in person and virtually. Although our target audience is children, we've found adults of all ages enjoying our classes!
As of today we have served over 100 children in person and more than 400 virtually.
Our mission is to serve as a community resource for children. TTI'S programming uses history to instill confidence in children and creates excitement unsung heroes and sheroes!
After many trips to the library we noticed children didn’t have a venue to learn about African-American history all year. We decided to do something about it.....
By partnering with the local library kids now have an opportunity to explore the adventurous stories of Heroes and Sheroes! We deliver content, books, and enthusiastic professors teaching children the rich history of african americans. Each powerful humans come from backgrounds just like you and me. If they can YOU CAN!
Check out TTI's feature in Chicago Magazine. We are so proud to move our mission forward telling the stories of unsung Heroes and Sheroes. Building confidence in children through history!
